UUs for Justice in the Middle East

Our Purpose and Activities

The purpose of the Unitarian Universalists for Justice in the Middle East (UUJME) chapter at Birmingham Unitarian Church (BUC) is to fulfill the mission of the UUJME (www.uujme.org), a national organization dedicated to a peaceful and just resolution of the Palestine-Israel conflict that affirms the equality, dignity, freedom, and security of all peoples involved. The UUJME was founded in 1971. Our UUJME chapter is an affiliate of Birmingham Unitarian Church (BUC).

To fulfill this mission, the UUJME BUC chapter undertakes a variety of activities, guided by Unitarian Universalist Principles, particularly those that speak to the inherent worth and dignity of every person; justice, equity, and compassion in all human relations; and the goal of world community with peace, liberty, and justice for all.

At BUC UUJME, there is no room for Islamophobia and no room for antisemitism.

Members and friends of BUC are encouraged to participate in our programs and/or join our chapter. Contact Sarah Redmond for additional information.
