Sharing the Plate

We donate a portion of our Sunday plate collections to local community service and social justice advocacy organizations. The intention of this is to:

  • Support community organizations doing work in alignment with the focal areas of BUC’s Social and Environmental Justice program
  • Inform the BUC community and visitors about the work of selected recipients, broadening their knowledge of such work being done in our communities
  • Foster a spirit of generosity that extends beyond our church to the broader community

Social and Environmental Justice council members identify and research candidate organizations and select recipients.

Each selected organization is a recipient for a period of 4-6 weeks, depending on time of year. Any congregant may suggest a recipient by submitting an application via the Google Form below.

A plate donation can be made at any time via the BUC website, via Venmo @BUCMI, or by mailing a check to the church office with “plate collection” on the memo line.
